Signatures gathered and sewn into a plain paper wrapper, enclosed with a full-sheet (approximately 13 x 20") original etching on Sekishu which serves as a dust-wrapper. Full brown linen cloth over boards, stamped boldly in reddish-orange on the upper cover and spine; top edge stained brown, old pencil title handwritten on bottom edge. With the ink ownership inscription (in the year of publication) of Taylor Gordon (notable singer in the Harlem Renaissance and author of the 1929 autobiography 'Born to Be') on the front free endpaper, and a presentation inscription from him to "Dr. Melville Charlton in memory of glorious days...".
