This is one of only fifteen numbered copies in this special binding, signed by the author and illustrator, and is accompanied by a portfolio within which is housed one of the original works of art from the fourteen chapter headings in the book. This is copy number seven, containing the original drawing, "Bighorn Sheep", used for chapter seven. Additionally, each of the fifteen copies features an original leaf from 'The Dictionary of Arts and Sciences' (London, 1754-55), one of the titles carried by Lewis and Clark in their traveling library. The book and portfolio are housed in a black cloth-covered slipcase, with a title label inset on the cover. // "... the chronicle of one man's obsession.
